Allgäu software start-up Picture Framing receives seed funding

It intends to use this to finance the cloud-based video app "Mozaik". Investors include Bayern Kapital and Müller Medien.

Picture Framing from Aitrang in Bavaria has raised a high six-figure sum for its seed financing. The investors include Bayern Kapital, the venture capital company of the Free State of Bavaria, as well as the Nuremberg-based Müller Medien family of companies (including the children's book series "Was ist was") and an unnamed business angel. The start-up intends to use the money to further develop the video editing app Mozaik and strengthen its market presence.

Mozaik is a video editing tool for companies to create company videos on their cell phones quickly, cheaply and without prior knowledge. The app is cloud-based. "Picture Framing has developed a clever tool that makes high-quality video productions accessible to a broad entrepreneurial audience," says Bayern-Kapital Managing Director Roman Huber. "The innovative cloud approach paired with a scalable, calculable business model makes Picture Framing a highly interesting investment for us in the software sector."

The start-up, which was founded two years ago, counts various savings banks and media companies among its customers. The team around founders David Knöbl and Neele Maarten de Vries is based in the digital start-up center "Allgäu Digital" with its 14 employees.
