ambeRoad raises pre-seed funding

The search engine start-up, which was only founded this year, has attracted external investors for the first time. The money will be used to further optimize the company's own software.
The Aachen-based start-up Amberoad has landed its first external investors. As the tech company announced, several business angels are participating in the pre-seed financing round. Among them are the former President of IHK NRW, Ralf Kersting, the consultant and experienced angel investor Mirko Kerschbaum and Promidata and Custom-Gateway founder Daniel Rüben. Two other investors did not wish to be named. The amount of funding is also unknown.
Amberoad is working on an internal company search engine that will enable companies to search their own data as easily as with Google or Bing, for example. "More and more companies are becoming aware that internal company searches are a time waster," explains Bastian Maiworm, one of the founders of Amberoad. His company's service can save companies several thousand euros a month. "The SMEs that manage to pass on their knowledge to new employees and a new generation will definitely be more successful than those that don't," says investor Daniel Rüben. "Both are important reasons for me to invest in the innovative start-up Amberoad."
Amberoad was founded this year by Bastian Maiworm, Igli Manaj, Julian Johannes Reinauer and Philip Reißel. The founders met at RWTH Aachen University during their studies. The newly raised funds will now be used to drive forward the development of the software.
