Billwerk takes over Sofacto
Felix Leitmeyer | 21.01.2022The company had only bought Copenhagen-based provider Reepay in November 2021.
The Frankfurt-based Billwerk Group has announced the acquisition of the French company Sofacto. Both offer software solutions for subscription management and recurring billing. The acquisition is intended to complement Billwerk's offering with the Salesforce ecosystem that Sofacto brings to the table. The startup does not want to disclose how much money has flowed in the transaction.
Billwerk has set out to become the European market leader for recurring payments business models. Just in November 2021, the group therefore bought Copenhagen-based Reepay, which brings customers in Scandinavia. Sofacto has so far been active mainly in France, Billwerk in the German-speaking region. Sofacto CEO Frederi Scotto is expected to continue leading the company, working with Ricco Deutscher, CEO of Billwerk Group.
Billwerk was founded in 2015 and employs nearly 70 people at its headquarters in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, as well as branches in Minsk, Belarus, and Gdansk, Poland. According to the company, its clients include several hundred medium-sized customers as well as start-ups. As a winner of the "Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Award", the company is one of the 30 fastest-growing tech companies in Germany.
