Finlex receives eight million euros

The Frankfurt-based insurtech has successfully closed its Series A financing round. Blackfin Capital Partners leads the round.

Finlex offers insurance brokers a white-label solution to build a digital infrastructure with all the necessary information and tools. Now the insurtech has announced the closing of its Series A funding round: Eight million euros has been raised by Finlex. The round is led by venture capitalist Blackfin Capital Partners, with Segenia Capital also joining in.

The insurtech wants to double the number of its employees by 2022, currently there are 60 employees at the locations Frankfurt, Berlin and Barcelona. It also plans to expand Finlex's platform and product offering. Founder Sebastian Klapper says of the startup's goals: "This funding will allow us to accelerate our dynamic growth, take our technology platform to the next level, and strengthen and expand our core product range in the local market."

Founded in 2015, the insurtech claims to have recorded 120 percent growth in the first half of this year compared to the same period last year and to be profitable. The figures have apparently also convinced investors: "Thanks to the quality of the platform, the unrivalled market knowledge of the founding team and the support of Blackfin, Finlex is ideally positioned to play a leading role in Europe," says Maxime Mandin of Blackfin.
