Food start-up Löwenanteil receives 2.6 million euros

The money comes from a family office. The capital is now to be used to kick-start international expansion.

Oldenburg-based food start-up Löwenanteil is receiving 2.6 million euros in capital. the money comes from an unnamed family office. The company plans to use the new funds to expand both in Germany and internationally, expand its product range and hire more employees.

Löwenanteil was founded in 2017 and sells mainly vegan ready meals. This year, the company says it has sold over two million servings to over 100,000 customers. This year, the company is targeting eight-figure sales, which would more than triple last year's figure. In addition to the high-turnover German market, the company also aims to consolidate its success in the Austrian market, as was recently the case with its new addition to the Austrian delivery service Mjam.
