Getir likely to acquire Gorillas well below valuation

The Turkish competitor is said to want to pay a maximum of 590 million euros, according to a Gründerszene report. Only recently, Gorillas was traded as a unicorn.

The Turkish fast delivery service Getir, founded in 2015, wants to take over Gorillas. The Berlin-based startup has been looking for a new funding option since the beginning of the year. As Gründerszene now reported, a deal could materialize, but it would be far below the valuation of the German delivery service. There are no official statements from the two startups on this yet.

According to the report, Getir is willing to spend a maximum of 590 million euros. Gorillas was founded in 2020 and already reached a valuation of 2.6 billion euros a year later. After some crises, the price is now said to be 840 million euros, as Gründerszene writes, citing an insider. Getir would thus pay almost 30 million euros less again. The payment terms are also mentioned in the Gründerszene report. Getir wants to pay 100 million euros in cash and settle the rest in shares in the Turkish company. Here, there is still uncertainty in the negotiations. According to the insiders quoted, the deal could therefore still change significantly or even fall through completely.
