Glacier receives millions

In its seed round, the Viennese climate protection start-up receives fresh capital from German investor First Climate, among others.

The Viennese climate protection start-up Glacier raises an undisclosed amount in the millions. The lead investor in the seed round is First Climate, an international climate protection service provider from Germany. The other investors include Calm/Storm Ventures and business angels such as Bernhard Niesner, co-founder of Busu. They already invested in the pre-seed financing round over a year ago - at that time, a total of around 1.7 million euros flowed into the company.

Glacier intends to use the fresh capital to expand its training programs and further develop its own learning platform. The start-up is also preparing its strategic market entry in Germany. Glacier's business model is implementation-oriented training programs to bring climate knowledge to companies. The Viennese start-up places a particular focus on internal skills and the respective corporate culture. The courses are offered online and can be accessed at any time. A certificate is awarded on completion.

Customers of the company, which was founded in 2020, include UniCredit Bank Austria, ÖBB, A1 Telekom, Infineon, ServiceNow and TPA. According to Glacier, a total of 30,000 employees attended the start-up's courses. In future, the start-up also wants to offer individual "learning journeys", i.e. courses tailored to the respective prior knowledge and area of activity. The range of courses is to be expanded on an ongoing basis.
