Frankfurt am Main - The Growth Alliance, an initiative of Landwirtschaftliche Rentenbank and TechQuartier on behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL), draws a positive balance for the year 2023 and presents ambitious plans for 2024.

For six years, the Growth Alliance has acted as a reliable partner for agri-food start-ups, supporting them in the start-up, growth and innovation phases. In times of changing challenges in agriculture, the initiative makes a significant contribution to food security for future generations.

Successful year 2023: Innovations and awards

The Growth Alliance recorded major successes last year. Satellites in space to revolutionize the use of water in agriculture, vegan alternatives to fish products or finding suitable investors - the initiative made it possible to achieve many ambitious goals. Successful start-ups such as Seedalive, Nunos and Ordinary Seafood received support, as did other alumni such as Reverion, constellr and Nature Robots.

The Growth Alliance organized four startup programs, supported over 80 startups and cooperated with well-known companies such as Agravis, Claas, Maschinenringe, KWS and BayWa. Despite challenging times, the participants reaped numerous awards, partnerships and investments.

Highlights of the past year included the rebranding and social media presence on a new website, the Idea Camp at Ruhr University Bochum and the Growth Alliance Networking Summit #GANS23 with over 200 guests and speakers.

2024: New programs and goals

The Growth Alliance is presenting four free programs for the current year:

  1. Idea Camp (April 24 - 26, Gründungsfabrik Rheingau): A hackathon for those interested in founding a company with a focus on innovations in the agriculture and food industry.
  2. Start-up Bootcamp (June 17 - 19, TechQuartier Frankfurt): A development program for early stage start-ups in the agri-food sector.
  3. Growth Alliance Networking Summit - GANS24 (June 20, Frankfurt am Main): The annual networking event for the startup ecosystem of the German and international AgriFood sector.
  4. Accelerator Program (22.10.2024 - 15.01.2025, TechQuartier Frankfurt): A program for AgriFood startups in the growth phase.

The events offer pioneers in the agriculture and food industry the opportunity to develop business models, find partners and work with experienced mentors. They also provide an opportunity to exchange ideas with experts, potential investors and customers.

New faces and ambitious goals

The new program manager of the Growth Alliance, Lukas Hoyos, emphasizes the need for a strong AgriFood ecosystem in the face of upcoming challenges. The initiative aims to promote innovative ideas and offer players in the AgriFood sector the space, expertise and network to develop practical solutions.

After the impressive successes of 2023, it will be interesting to see which innovative ideas and concepts the Growth Alliance will support in 2024.
