Nous Raises 2.3 Million Euros in Seed Funding

The Italian food tech startup Nous has closed a seed funding round of 2.315 million euros. The round was led by dsm-firmenich Ventures. Other participants include FoodSeed, the FoodTech program of CDP Venture Capital’s National Accelerator Network, and Eatable Adventures (Accelera Ventures).

With this fresh capital, Nous plans to accelerate the commercialization of its functional plant-based ingredient Koncentra, conduct further clinical trials, and drive international expansion.

Natural Ingredient for Energy, Focus, and Well-Being

Koncentra is a plant-based functional ingredient produced using a proprietary extraction technology. It is designed to support energy, concentration, and mood and is aimed at manufacturers of food, beverages, and dietary supplements.

Its efficacy has already been investigated in initial studies. Further clinical trials are now intended to strengthen the scientific basis and further secure market entry.

Capital for Research and International Expansion

With this seed funding, Nous plans to expand its supply chains in Europe and Asia and further develop its proprietary extraction platform. At the same time, the company is investing in new talent and the development of additional functional ingredients.

Particular emphasis is being placed on entering the U.S. market, which is planned for November 2026. By the end of 2027, Nous aims to publish at least three clinical studies and increase Koncentra’s production capacity to at least 60 metric tons per year. In addition to capital, the investment provides the company with strategic support from experienced investors in the fields of ingredients, FoodTech, and international scaling.
