Half a million US dollars for start-up by ex-N26 managers

Physiotherapy at home is the mission of Berlin-based start-up Exakt Health. It wants to invest the money it has now raised in the launch of the app.

More and more apps are relying on certification by the Directory of Digital Health Apps (DiGA) to be prescribed by prescription. The startup Exakt Health also wants to achieve this, now it raised half a million US dollars in a first round of funding.

The two founders Philip Billaudelle and Lucia Payo were both once managers at the neobank N26 - and apparently benefit from their good contacts. Because investors are, in addition to the business angels collective Inventures, N26 founder Maximilian Tayenthal as well as ex-marketing boss Kelly Ford and former USA boss Nicolas Kopp. Also participating as business angels are Cornelia Hoppe of management consultancy Done Berlin and Gloria Bauerlein, who was head of strategy at telemedicine start-up Kry.

"Our mission with Exakt Health is to make medically verified and individualized physical therapy available to everyone via app - anytime, anywhere," says Billaudelle, describing Exakt Health's mission. First, the user can perform a self-diagnosis in the app, then a rehabilitation plan is created. The Berlin-based start-up works closely with physiotherapists, initially focusing on sports injuries.

The app is set to launch in May, and the founders plan to use the money raised to launch and build the team.
