Kadmos raises eight million euros

Making the payrolls of guest workers more transparent and less expensive - the Berlin-based start-up convinced investors with this idea.
The startup Kadmos has raised eight million euros in a pre-seed round, the company announced on Linkedin announced. This brings the capital raised to date to just under ten million euros. The round is led by U.S. backer Addition. Atlantic Labs is also taking a stake in the fintech.
The founders Justus Schmüser and Sasha Makarovych state that they want to revolutionize the payment of salaries to guest workers. Currently, Kadmos is focusing on the shipping industry, but soon they plan to add construction and healthcare. Employers will be able to pay salaries to people from all countries via a single platform. The aim is to keep transfer fees as low as possible, so that employers and employees benefit. Employees will also be provided with debit cards that can be used worldwide.
The new capital will enable the founders to expand their team and drive product development. The platform is expected to launch this year. According to the startup, it is already cooperating with Nordic Hamburg Group, Mercmarine, Seafair and shipping company NSB.
