AI for the manufacturing industry

Linexa raises 2 million euros for AI-enabled factories

Pre-seed funding to make Europe's manufacturing industry AI-ready. The platform analyzes complex control systems at machine level and helps companies to make production processes more transparent and efficient.

The Munich-based startup Linexa has closed a pre-seed financing round of 2 million euros. The round is led by Project A and also includes prominent angel investors such as Festo CEO Thomas Böck, Celonis founder Bastian Nominacher and Christian Schlögel (formerly Kuka/Körber). The capital will be used to expand the platform and build up the team.

Old control systems as a brake on innovation

Many European production facilities are based on control systems from various manufacturers that have evolved over decades. These are often difficult to understand, barely documented and risky to change. Adjustments can lead to costly production downtime. This is one reason why digitalization and automation are faltering in many places.

A strong manufacturing industry is the backbone of our prosperity. Linexa gives manufacturing companies back control over their own plants and thus strengthens their competitiveness

AI access directly at machine level

This is exactly where Linexa comes in: The platform analyzes the control code directly at machine level, translates it into a standardized data model and thus makes the entire production logic transparent for the first time. On this basis, AI agents can be used to optimize processes, identify risks at an early stage and implement adjustments efficiently.

Unlike many existing solutions, Linexa does not focus on sensor data or business processes, but on the underlying control logic of the machines.

First industrial applications in use

A large German food manufacturer is already using the platform to analyze production processes and reduce changeover times. For example, adjustments to production lines can be implemented more quickly and with less risk.

European production is our economic foundation. With Linexa, we can modernize our store floor quickly enough to keep pace with global competition. That is why we have invested.

Florian Heinemann, General Partner, Project A

In view of increasing international competition and rising cost pressure, Linexa is positioning itself as a technology provider for the modernization of existing production systems. The aim is to make European manufacturing companies digitally connected and competitive in the long term.
