Baillie Gifford, an existing investor, is leading a funding round of around €20 million, while founder and CEO Felix Jahn is also investing. The company plans to use the funds for further investments in digitalization and process automation.

Real estate company McMakler has closed a successful funding round, led by its existing investor Baillie Gifford. Other existing investors such as Warburg Pincus, Frog Capital and IGP Capital also participated in the round. In addition, founder and CEO Felix Jahn invested a seven-figure sum in the company. The volume of the financing amounts to around 20 million euros. McMakler plans to invest the additional capital mainly in the further digitization and automation of its operational processes in order to offer its customers even more transparency and security when selling and buying real estate in a challenging market environment.

We will continue to invest specifically in digitization and in the automation of our operational processes and thus make the sale of real estate even more efficient for our customers.

McMakler again receives an investment from Baillie Gifford, a global investment house. Already in January 2022, Baillie Gifford led a financing round with a double-digit million amount. The Edinburgh-based company invests in promising growth companies and supports them in the long term over a time horizon of five to ten years or longer. Baillie Gifford's portfolio companies include well-known companies such as Amazon, Tesla and Spotify, as well as German companies such as Zalando and HelloFresh, all of which show great transformational potential.

McMakler was founded in 2015 by Felix Jahn as a hybrid real estate broker. Today, the company is one of the major brokerage firms in Germany and Austria, with a team of around 350 of its own real estate agents in more than 30 locations. In the fall of 2022, McMakler laid off more than 100 employees, according to media reports.
