While companies are investing billions in artificial intelligence, many projects fail before they even reach production. The French startup Mendo is tackling this very problem and has now raised fresh growth capital to do so.

The Paris-based company has closed a Series A funding round worth 12 million euros. The round is led by Ventech and Educapital. Tomcat and OVNI are also participating. Mendo had already raised 3.5 million euros in a seed round back in 2024.

AI rarely fails because of the technology

Mendo’s central thesis: The bottleneck is not the technology, but rather acceptance within the organization.

According to Gartner, around 70 percent of all AI and agentic AI projects never make it into productive use. Employees do not use the solutions sufficiently, processes are not adapted, and companies cannot realize the actual value of their investments.

This is exactly where Mendo comes in. The platform integrates directly into existing applications such as Microsoft 365 Copilot, ChatGPT, Gemini, or Mistral AI and helps employees identify specific use cases and meaningfully integrate AI into their daily work.

Agentic AI is changing the rules of the game

With the rise of agentic AI, the role of AI systems is fundamentally shifting.

Instead of automating individual tasks, AI agents are increasingly taking over entire process chains and coordinating workflows across different departments. As a result, AI is increasingly becoming the operational infrastructure of modern organizations.

This creates a new challenge for companies: not only must the technology be implemented, but the organization must also learn to work with autonomous systems. Mendo positions itself precisely at this intersection between technology, employees, and organizational change.

More than 100 companies are already relying on Mendo

The demand appears to be there. According to the company, Mendo is now supporting more than 100 large enterprises in the implementation of generative AI.

Clients include, among others:

  • PwC
  • Novo Nordisk
  • Crédit Agricole
  • Groupe Rocher
  • Edenred

In total, approximately 100,000 employees across Europe have already been supported through the platform.

Platform Expansion and Growth in Europe

With the new capital, Mendo is pursuing three key objectives:

  • Expanding the analytics platform to identify AI use cases with measurable ROI
  • Doubling the workforce from 50 to 100 employees
  • Accelerating expansion in key European markets

A particular focus is on developing tools designed to help companies measure the actual use of AI agents and demonstrate their economic benefits. According to the company, this is already enabling customers to achieve adoption rates up to six times higher than with traditional implementation approaches.

Europe’s opportunity to take a leading role in AI adoption

While much of the AI competition currently centers on models, infrastructure, and computing power, Mendo addresses an often-overlooked question: How do these technologies actually make their way into companies successfully?

Investors see this as a market worth billions. After all, the more Agentic AI becomes the central operating system of companies, the more important it becomes to engage employees and successfully introduce new ways of working.

With offices in Paris, Berlin, Munich, Helsinki, and Stockholm, as well as a growing customer base, Mendo aims to fill exactly this role—and become the European benchmark for AI adoption.
