Mission Construction: LOVEDIS brings ClimateTech and construction start-ups to Marburg
With the Mission Construction: Demo Day, Lovedis turned the Lokschuppen in Marburg into a meeting place for ConstructionTech, ClimateTech and industrial innovation. The focus was on sustainable solutions for the construction industry, new materials and digital processes along the entire value chain.
One highlight of the event was the keynote speech by Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Hans Joachim Schellnhuber, one of the world's best-known climate researchers. The founder of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research and initiator of Bauhaus Earth made it clear what a central role the construction sector plays in the global climate balance.
A clear wake-up call for the construction industry

Schellnhuber impressively demonstrated the influence that building materials, construction processes and infrastructure have on emissions and resource consumption. In particular, the choice of materials and new approaches in the construction sector are crucial to achieving the climate targets, if this is still possible at all.
The keynote speech was seen by many guests as a clear wake-up call. Not only for the construction industry itself, but also for investors, local authorities and the start-up scene.
14 start-ups present their solutions
A total of 14 start-ups presented their technologies and business models as part of the Demo Day. The teams address a wide range of challenges relating to construction, sustainability, digitalization and material innovation.
The participating start-ups included
- ContainerGrid

The solutions presented ranged from digital planning and BIM technologies to process automation, sustainable materials and data-driven construction site solutions.
Networking in the INNOCOU HUB
After the pitches, the focus was on direct exchange during speed dating and networking in the INNOCOU HUB. Founders, companies, investors and guests took the opportunity to get to know the teams personally and initiate potential collaborations. The day was hosted by LOVEDIS CEO Mara Steinbrenner.
With the Construction Demo Day, LOVEDIS shows that regions outside the classic startup centers such as Berlin, Munich or Hamburg can also build relevant innovation ecosystems. Central Hesse and Marburg in particular are increasingly developing into an exciting location for technology-driven start-ups with an industrial focus.
