Moonfare receives $125 million

The investment round is led by New York-based private equity and venture capital firm Insight Partners.

Moonfare has raised 125 million US dollars. With the latest investment, the Berlin-based startup can now boast a total funding of 185 million US dollars. Insight Partners has already announced that it will provide Moonfare with operational support and a broad network. This is expected to help further accelerate the fintech's global expansion.

"We will make the company a global champion for private investors in the coming years," Moonfare founder and CEO Steffen Pauls hopes. Matt Gatto, Managing Director of Insight Partners, is a firm believer in the young company: "Moonfare has established itself as an international leader in an extremely large and expanding market in an impressively short time."

The fintech offers retail investors access to private market funds that were previously only available to institutional investors. Since September, Moonfare has managed assets of one billion euros. This means the company doubled its assets in just eight months and describes itself as the international market leader in private market funds for retail investors. Moonfare already operates in 13 countries in Europe and Asia and has offices in Berlin, Hong Kong, London and Luxembourg. Further offices are due to open shortly.

The company plans to create over 80 full-time positions. This would double the size of its global team in the engineering and product departments alone. Moonfare's last funding round took place in March this year and was led by Fidelity International Strategic Ventures, which also participated in the current round.
