Broadcast scientific events online and save lectures: This is made possible by the start-up Morressier. The Berlin-based company has now raised 18 million US dollars, with the help of a venture capitalist from Silicon Valley.

Berlin-based startup Morressier has raised $18 million in its Series A funding round. The round is led by Owl Ventures, a Silicon Valley venture capitalist that manages money from Bill Gates, among others. Also on board are existing investors such as Cherry Ventures and Redalpine. The money will be invested in expanding the platform and scaling the team.

"We are excited to have Owl Ventures join us on this journey - with their years of experience as the largest investor in education technology, we couldn't think of a better partner to help us achieve our goals," said co-founder Sami Benchekroun. Morressier offers a portal with scientific presentations from conferences, which are collected in a digital library and supplemented by studies or additional materials. Those who want to view it all have to pay a fee. In the Corona pandemic, the startup also began broadcasting conferences live through its platform.

"We are incredibly impressed with the passion and commitment of the founding team - Sami, Justus and Rino - and can't wait to support them in this endeavor," Tory Patterson of Owl Ventures is also excited to share. In addition to Benchekroun, Rino Montiel and Justus Weweler are among the startup's founders.
