Edurino receives 3.35 million euros

The money comes from investors such as Btov Partners and education expert Verena Pausder. The founders want to use the capital to expand their product.

The Munich-based start-up Edurino has raised 3.35 million euros from a seed financing round. The investor Btov Partners led the round. Venture capitalists Emerge Education and Fabian and Ferry Heilemann through Pirate Impact also invested. Business angels Verena Pausder from Fox & Sheep and Haba Digital, Ben Drury from Yoto and Christian Felgenhauer and Maurice Khudhir from Studysmarter also joined.

Irene Klemm and Franziska Meyer founded the start-up Edurino in Munich in 2021. Following a crowdfunding campaign, the two founders launched their first learning app. This is designed to give children a hybrid approach to reading and writing using an ergonomic pen and figures. Before founding the company, Klemm and Meyer worked as management consultants at the Boston Consulting Group.

The two founders want to use the money from the seed funding this year to bring out more figures and learning areas. Their product is intended to become a "holistic learning system for preschool children", they explain. In the next step, Edurino also wants to target schoolchildren. The founders then want to integrate learning games for creativity, English and coding into the app. The founders also want to launch their products in the retail sector. The team is set to triple from its current ten employees in the next twelve months.

"We want to lay the foundation for responsible digital competence," says co-founder Klemm. "We were amazed at how few good digital products there were on the market. Together with our strong team of investors from gaming, education and tech, we want to revolutionize the digital education industry over the next few years." Investor Pausder firmly believes in her investment: "In order for our children to find their way in the digital world of tomorrow, we need to teach them digital skills. And that's exactly what Edurino teaches."
