Berlin, 04.03.2024 - The European provider of cloud-based POS systems, orderbird, is expanding its offering with the successful acquisition of tech start-up Split, a specialist for digital ordering solutions in the hospitality industry.

Progress in the collaboration

The integration of Split's software applications has already begun since the acquisition in March 2023. The first results are currently becoming visible: orderbird's restaurant POS system, orderbird PRO, has been expanded to include two free features. Guests can now view the menu and pay the bill using a QR code on their smartphone. Another additional product makes it possible to place and pay for orders directly at the table.

Positive development since the takeover

The founders of Split, Carsten Bock, Christian Castro Büch and Norman Holpart, are delighted with the collaboration. Since the takeover, Split has recorded further successes up to the end of January 2024, with external sales of over 12 million euros, processing more than 660,000 ordered shopping baskets and serving more than 70,000 guests with orders.

The acquisition underlines orderbird's position as a provider of digital ordering solutions in the hospitality industry. CEO David Feichter emphasizes the synergy created by the integration of Split. The combination of orderbird's experience as an established provider of cloud POS systems and Split's innovative strength should offer tailor-made solutions for the changing challenges in the hospitality industry.
