Pile successfully completes pre-seed financing

Penta creator Jessica Holzbach was able to raise 2.8 million euros for her new fintech Pile, according to start-up scene reports. The main investors in the current financing round are Movinx CEO Carolin Gabor, N26 founder Maximilian Tayenthal, angel investor Jens Lapinski and footballer Mario Götze. Venture capitalists such as Barclays Female Innovators Lab, Ilavska Vuillermoz and the venture capitalist Auxxo, which focuses on female teams, also participated.

Together with her founding team consisting of Benedetta Ludovisi, Jeannine Klein and Balazs Deme, she wants to develop "Decentralized Finance" products for other fintechs, neobanks and start-ups. The start-up sees itself as a "crypto-as-a-service provider". Thanks to this blockchain-based form of financing, Pile's corporate customers are no longer reliant on traditional service providers such as brokers, stock exchanges or banks when they want to offer financial products.

In a way, Pile wants to be the supplier for these products. To this end, it offers a software interface that is easy to integrate and yet secure. The founding team is not deterred by the recent crypto crash: "We are following the current turbulence, but believe in the long-term vision and idea of Defi and the blockchain," writes Holzbach on request Finance Forward.
