Plusdental wins professional footballer as investor

The national player and other investors are putting 35 million euros into the start-up. This is already the second news about Dentalplus in less than four weeks.
In a financing round that has now been completed, the start-up Plusdental was able to collect a further 35 million euros and also win over Mario Götze, a well-known face outside the start-up industry, for its product. Accordingly, Götze is both investor and customer of the still young company.
In technical language, the popular dental splints are called "aligners"
. They are supposed to ensure that the teeth stand straight and, according to the promises of the suppliers, are transparent. This makes them very different from the rather unsightly braces that children get from their orthodontist. In the current round of financing, Biontech investor Jebsen Capital, among others, invested in the business idea.Constantin Bisanz, David Khalil, Peter Baumgart and Lukas Brosseder founded the start-up in 2017 under the name Sunshine Smile, but have since renamed it. Plusdental has already been able to convince investors in the past. Among others, the Ping An Global Voyager Fund from Hong Kong invested 32 million euros last year. At that time, the start-up from Berlin was valued by backers at more than 100 million euros.
At the beginning of March, the company announced its expansion to Spain (Startbase reported exclusively), where it plans to invest a total of ten million euros. This marked the eighth market the fledgling company has entered in just a few years.
