Frankfurt - Quantagonia, a company specializing in software for quantum computers, has successfully completed its seed fundraising round and increased its total financing to 4.3 million euros under the lead of Tensor Ventures. Three European deep tech VCs as well as a regional investment and a family office participated in the financing.
Quantagonia offers a B2B SaaS solution called "Hybrid Quantum Platform", which combines the advantages of classical computing and quantum computing. One of the platform's strengths is that it can use existing computer programs. The aim is to make the advantages of quantum computing accessible to a broad market environment. The capital raised will be used by Quantagonia to further develop the product and expand sales.
We should not miss out on breakthroughs again and miss out on innovations such as the introduction of artificial intelligence. Companies need to act now to reap the benefits that Quantum Computing will bring in the future
Dirk Zechiel, CEO and co-founder Quantagoni
More and more companies are confronted with more complex decision models and higher requirements for process control. Traditional computers with their existing architectures are reaching their limits, especially when it comes to optimization algorithms, simulation processes and the use of artificial intelligence (AI). Quantum computing offers a promising solution for solving these problems much faster or even for the first time. However, existing program codes and applications for quantum computers need to be reformulated, which is a current challenge.
Quantagonia wants to revolutionize computing and its applications. With its Hybrid Quantum Platform, existing program codes can be executed on both classical and quantum computer architectures. This means that innovative solutions, particularly those based on AI, can be used.
In Germany, the transfer from basic research to industry is still too cumbersome. Quantagonia is one of the few European start-ups that makes this possible with its expertise from research and successful company development
Martin Drdúl, Tensor Ventures
Following the successful pre-seed round in December 2021, in which the FTTF (Fraunhofer Technology Transfer Fund), the Finnish deep-tech VC Voima Ventures and a German family office were already involved, Quantagonia is now increasing the investment volume to a total of 4.3 million euros with Tensor Ventures, Beteiligungs-Managementgesellschaft Hessen and a follow-up investment from existing investors.
Quantagonia's Hybrid Quantum Platform gives customers access to their AI, optimization and simulation applications. The platform integrates manufacturers of classic (CPUs & GPUs) and quantum hardware. With the already available HybridSolver, customers can for the first time solve optimization problems on both quantum computers and conventional hardware with optimality proof. Quantagonia also offers its expertise for use case analyses and the realization of future-proof solutions to customers who are not yet actively implementing quantum applications.
Founded in November 2021, Quantagonia consists of a team of 15 experts with expertise in computer science, physics, mathematics and successful business development. The founders are Dirk Zechiel, Prof. Dr. Sabina Jeschke, Prof. Dr. Sebastian Pokutta & Philipp Hannemann.
