Simscale raises another 25 million euros

This brings the total of the Series C financing round to 52 million euros.

It's an extension of the Series C funding round from January 2020: the start-up Simscale has received a further 25 million euros, bringing its total raised to 52 million euros. The round is led by venture capitalist Draper Esprit from London, with investors Earlybird, June, Vsquared and USV also joining in.

Founded in 2012, the Munich-based startup is dedicated to Computer Aided Engineering (CAE), or computer-aided development, which is crucial to the product development process by performing simulations. Simscale focuses on the weaknesses of CAE to compensate for them or simplify access for companies. The startup's SaaS solution is designed to enable end-to-end, accurate simulations in the cloud for R&D across all cycles and industries of products, Simscale explains its offering.

CEO David Heiny says of his startup's mission, "Our vision is to make engineering simulation a standard tool for every engineer. With hundreds of thousands of users and millions of simulation jobs, we've made significant progress in the last few years." This has also convinced Christoph Hornung of Draper Esprit, who comments on Simscale's offering: "By incorporating world-class, traditionally proprietary simulation technologies into the cloud, it will revolutionize an entire industry."
