The start-up Swarm actually produces protein bars made from insects. It has now announced that it has not survived the coronavirus crisis.

The bad news of the day: the founders of Swarm are giving up. The Cologne-based start-up announced on LinkedIn : "Unfortunately, our financial resources were not enough to see our vision of a sustainable protein supply through the coronavirus crisis." The founders were also unable to convince investors of their vision, Swarm wrote on the career network.

Founded in 2015, the company produces protein bars made from insect flour, among other things. A bar made from crickets has already made it onto the supermarket shelves of Edeka and Rewe, for example. The founders Timo Bäcker and Christopher Zeppenfeld are also focusing on dog food made from insects.
