Start-ups from Baden-Württemberg demand more investment from the state

Start-up representatives are calling for a growth fund from the state government. This should strengthen the region's start-ups in the long term.

Over the past five years, the state government has provided 100 million euros in funding for start-ups in Baden-Württemberg. However, this is not enough for the industry representatives of the Federal Association of German Start-ups in Baden-Württemberg. As their spokesperson Adrian Thoma told the Stuttgarter Zeitung , they are calling for a long-term perspective. A three-digit million sum should be invested to ensure security during the growth phase. Thoma has three demands that should be considered after the upcoming elections.

Firstly, the state government should set up another fund. This should be based on the existing Start-up BW Pre-Seed Fund, which was set up two years ago and provides financial support for start-ups in the early stages. The new fund is intended to help the growth of established start-ups. The state government also aims to make start-ups more visible internationally if they want to expand.

Thirdly, large companies should discover the entrepreneurial spirit within themselves. To this end, a program is to be set up to encourage employees to set up companies from within existing companies.
