Synbiotic and Enchilada establish joint venture

The cannabis company and the gastronomy group want to open cannabis stores in Germany - even before legalization.
The listed cannabis start-up Synbiotic and the gastronomy group Enchilada would like to jointly open a cannabis store franchise in Germany. The companies are planning to establish a joint venture for this purpose. For legal reasons, there will be two companies: One will manage the licenses, while the other will grant the licenses to franchisees and take care of the operational business.
"We will soon present a turnkey brand and concrete concepts for our first own store chain. And all this before legalization," says Synbiotic Managing Director Lars Müller. The joint venture also sees itself as a trailblazer for the German economy. Together, they want to find answers to what the legalization of cannabis could look like in concrete terms.
Synbiotic made a conscious decision to collaborate with the German Enchilada Group. The catering company already has a lot of experience with franchising. In addition, employees in the catering trade are already trained in youth protection and product recommendations from selling alcohol. Previous knowledge of food law could be useful for the sale of cannabis, as it will presumably be subject to the same rules as alcohol.
