Talking Hands cooperates with Kao

Kao is the company behind the hair care brand Guhl. The company is now printing illustrations by Talking Hands on its shampoo bottles during a campaign.

The inclusive start-up Talking Hands has entered into a cooperation with Kao. During a joint promotion, the Japanese consumer goods company is printing illustrations of gestures on the shampoo bottles of its hair care brand Guhl. For every shampoo bottle sold, Kao will also donate one euro to equip educational institutions with Talking Hands' flipbooks.

Normally, the start-up by Maria Möller and Laura Mohn produces flipbooks that show signs. In this way, they want to support children with communication difficulties to better express their feelings and thoughts and thus enable more inclusion. The illustrations on Guhl's hair care products are based on the Talking Hands flipbooks and show the product features of the shampoos in German sign language. They were designed and drawn by Laura Mohn, co-founder of the Frankfurt-based start-up.

With the cooperation, Kao wants to offer the start-up Talking Hands a platform to create awareness for the topic of inclusion. "Our product label is the biggest communication space we have - so we are very happy to see the Guhl bottles now on the shelves with the colorful illustrations of talking hands," says Armin Haery, marketing director at Kao and head of the consumer care business for the DACH region. "As a brand, we "talk" to our consumers every day - so why not do it in signs?"
