With this acquisition, the software company intends to expand its remote maintenance offering to the area of machines and industrial plants. This is already the second acquisition within a short period of time.

Teamviewer, the software company based in Göppingen near Stuttgart, announces another acquisition. After acquiring Bremen-based start-up Ubimax in the fall, the company is now taking over US augmented reality expert Upskill.

"By acquiring Upskill, we are strengthening our capabilities as the company focuses on complementary use cases and industries such as aerospace, pharma & life sciences, insurance & claims management and retail," said Teamviewer CEO Oliver Steil.

Upskill provides real-time interfaces for data glasses and other devices designed to integrate skilled workers and maintenance teams into their daily work. Customers include Boeing, General Electric and Merck, among others.

Teamviewer is best known for its in-house remote computer maintenance software. With its recent acquisitions, the company is looking to grow in the remote maintenance of machinery and industrial equipment.
