Voltfang has successfully won Viessmann as an investor! The innovative company specializes in the production of energy storage devices from second-life e-car batteries.

Aachen / Allendorf - The startup Voltfang, which specializes in the production of energy storage devices from second-life e-car batteries, has reached a significant milestone: the renowned Viessmann Group has come on board as an investor. The partnership was first reported in Handelsblatt.

In a recently completed round of financing, Voltfang was again able to raise €5 million from a group of several backers, according to Handelsblatt. The investment not only signals the confidence of the investors in Voltfang's future success story, but is also a statement for the potential of sustainable energy storage solutions. We currently have no information about the other backers.

Viessmann sells to Carrier Global

Viessmann, a German industry leader in heating and air conditioning technology, has chosen Voltfang as an investor after selling its heat pump business to U.S. manufacturer Carrier Global for 12 billion euros earlier this year. That sale was the subject of critical scrutiny from Robert Habeck and the Ministry of Economics.

Since the announcement of the successful deal, Carrier Global shareholders have also seen extremely encouraging developments. With an impressive share price increase of almost 30% since the deal was announced, they have reason to rejoice.

Voltfang's second round 2023

Back in May of this year, we reported on a successful €5 million funding round. The start-up was launched in 2021 by founding members Afshin Doostdar, Roman Alberti and David Oudsandji and specializes in the development and production of energy storage devices. As a spin-off of RWTH Aachen University, Voltfang has already launched a certified product that is ready for series production. With a production site in Aachen, the company now employs 50 people. Voltfang is aiming for the ambitious goal of offering more than 40 MWh of storage capacity in its products by the end of 2024.

The partnership with Viessmann marks a milestone in Voltfang's success story and underlines the strong commitment of both companies to a sustainable and green future.
