How did you come up with the idea of founding Patient DecreePlus?

We had a case in our family and I was personally confronted with what happens when someone can no longer express their will. No one is really prepared for such a family emergency.

Why did you start your start-up, which problem do you address and how do you solve it?

When I looked into our family problem, I learned first hand that many people do not have access to good and affordable documents. Moreover, the threshold to actually prepare these documents is quite high due to the difficult subject matter, many misperceptions of people and the high costs in the traditional legal field. I have then www.patientenverfuegungplus.de was established to provide objective information to people, offer high quality documents and related services supporting the entire life cycle on one platform, i.e. information about new developments, an easy way to update documents, immediate and 24/7 access to documents for relatives and doctors.

What is special about your business model, what do you do differently?

We combine the law with additional non-legal services and thus combine previously unconnected instruments on our platform, bringing a product to life that has not existed in the legal field before.

What was the most valuable advice someone gave you during your start-up phase?

Do your best and don't give up.

What was your greatest success to date?

Being rewarded several times since 2016 for the "best product on the market" with the financial tip Marktcheck.

Why are you on Startbase?

We want to reach interested people who see the great value and benefit of a partnership with us for their users, e.g. in the areas of insurance, finance, occupational health management, social benefits. In such a B2B2C situation, Patient DecreePlus can be used in many ways, e.g. as a door opener, customer reward tool or cost saving tool.

Where do you see your start-up in 3 years?

We will be leading in the field with solid partnerships.

If an investor would give you 250,000 Euros, what would you do with the money?

We would go directly into the many low hanging opportunities to expand our business.

Who is the mastermind on your team and what is his superpower?

It's a team thing. Together we have great ideas.

Say you're the Governing Mayor of Berlin, what would you change?

Leaders at all levels need to better understand that the world is changing at a rapid pace and what that means for us as a country and for the economy. We should be open and support new developments that can be the source of a prosperous nation in the future. The transformation may be difficult for existing business models now, but that does not justify not driving this transformation forward. In fact, it brings wonderful new opportunities. Maybe we can compare the current situation a little bit to a living will: There is a natural threshold to prefer not to do it, but once you do it, you feel relieved and ready for the future. So we should not try to defend traditional business models that will definitely disappear over time. The faster we adapt now, the better in the long run to remain a leading economy in the world.
