All of the start-up's products are intended to comply with the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Some of the godfathers are quite prominent.

17 celebrities, entrepreneurs and professors have jointly founded a sustainable start-up. Called The Seventeen, they aim to offer products that align with the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Each founder represents one of the goals. For example, former German national soccer player and vegan Timo Hildebrand represents the goal of eating healthy and fighting hunger.

The start-up wants to invest 17 percent of its profits in the implementation of projects related to the sustainability goals. It also aims to advise other companies on how to design their value chains in line with the Sustainable Development Goals. The idea for The Seventeen came from Torsten Weber. He has been a professor of sustainability management at the Cologne Business School in Cologne for almost ten years.

The first products are to be available in the online shop before the end of November. The focus is particularly on everyday objects and basic products.
