Fast and freshly prepared meals, but not by human hands, but by robots: this is what the start-up Aitme, founded by former Foodora CEO Emanuel Pallua and Julian Stoß, who used to work at Foodpanda and has held positions at Foodora and Delivery Hero, is working on. The Berlin-based company has now raised 7.5 million euros in a financing round, as Gründerszene first reported. The money comes from HV Capital and Global Founders Capital, a Rocket Internet fund. Business angel Oliver Ringleben and existing investors La Famiglia and Vorwerk Ventures are also involved.

Aitme has raised ten million euros since it was founded. The cooking robot is still only available as a prototype. The financing will cover the running costs for the coming months and support the 20-strong team, according to the start-up. The development requires time, which Pallua wants to use to perfect the cooking robot, he tells Gründerszene. The development team is based in Munich. Aitme already has its first customer: the AI incubator Merantix from Berlin, which is due to receive its first robot in the next few weeks.

The aim is to first address companies with canteens that can be replaced by the robot. Later, the robot will also be used in public spaces such as train stations and hotels.
