Along gets one million euros

The Berlin-based start-up was able to convince Philipp Westermeyer and Artjem Weissbeck, among others, of its merits.

In its first round of financing, the German start-up Along was able to raise a direct sum of millions. Various business angels, including Alex Chung (Giphy), Dieter Rappold (Speedinvest Pirates), Philipp Westermeyer (OMR) and several funds, including APX, have invested. The start-up plans to put the money into developing the product.

The start-up Along was founded by Julian Philipp Nagel, Frederik Nagel and Thabo Mphuthi in 2022. It specializes in simplifying negotiations with freelancers and freelancers. Most of the time, startups or agencies are their clients and, according to Along, that leads to a problem: You can't agree on a common denominator with the client. Along wants to solve that with a pre-built interface that saves all the important information for negotiations, including PDFs, emails or even Whatsapp messages. Founder Julian Philipp Nagel says, "We see a strong need for a single virtual hub that provides clarity for all parties."

Investor Philipp Westermeyer also sees the need in the market, "At OMR, we really have some software tools in use for negotiations and my sales colleagues are pretty excited about Along's vision because it solves an important pain point: the path from the first pitch to the final offer." In the past seven weeks, Along has already convinced 62 companies of its solution and conducted a test run with them. A first version of the platform is expected to emerge in early October, but then still as a private alpha version.
