Ananda Impact Ventures launches new fund

The VC secured 108 million euros for its fourth so-called core impact fund. Ananda is one of Europe's leading impact venture capitalists.

Impact-focused venture capitalist Ananda Impact Ventures has raised €108 million for a new fund. The VC says that its fourth core impact fund was thus significantly oversubscribed. Originally, it wanted to raise 75 million euros.

Johannes Weber and Florian Erber founded Ananda Impact Ventures in 2009. By its own account, the VC manages a total of 200 million euros from private and institutional investors.

With the newly launched fund, the VC wants to invest in technology companies that are committed to social and ecological issues. Currently, the companies supported include Open Bionics, UESO Digital Health and Ororatech.

The funded startups should be successful in both impact and financial return. In doing so, Ananda aims to help maintain the mental health and resilience of the founders. Alain Godard, CEO of the European Investment Fund, who invested in the new fund, is also convinced of this vision: "Ananda Impact Ventures is a true pioneer with a strong track record in the growing impact investing market in Europe. The fact that we have now invested for the third time in a row is a testament to the team's expertise in supporting impact-oriented companies and delivering effective returns," he says.
