Lisa Marie Münster | 01.10.2021Helmut Jeggle apparently invests a double-digit million amount in the start-up and receives 20 percent of the shares in return.
Helmut Jeggle probably did everything right with his investment in Biontech. He invested in the vaccine manufacturing company when hardly anyone knew him. Today, he sits on Biontech's supervisory board. Now Jeggle has once again financed a start-up. The investor has acquired a 20 percent stake in the start-up One Logic, as he confirmed to Handelsblatt confirmed to us. Jeggle is said to have paid a double-digit million amount for this.
One Logic is traded as a competitor to the American Palantir: The Passau-based company enables the processing of large amounts of data with the help of AI. With this, One Logic has generated a turnover of 20 million euros. Founded in 2013 by Andreas Böhm, the start-up now employs 20 people.
Jeggle tells Handelsblatt about Böhm: "Similar to Ugur Sahin in his early days, Andreas Böhm is a founder with a great vision and passion who is eager to build a whole new technology platform and European AI champion." The investor held a stake in the Strüngmann brothers' family office Athos until May 2021, through which the investment in Biontech also took place. The three met at boarding school, and Jeggle later worked for Strüngmann's company Hexal.
With the investment, One Logic is said to be worth 100 million euros. The start-up is not only connected through its new backer Jeggle, the Passau-based company's name can also be found among Biontech's partner companies.
