In the process, the fintech raised an amount in the undisclosed millions.

Berlin-based fintech Bling has successfully completed its seed financing round. According to the company, it raised an amount in the millions; the exact amount is not known. Amsterdam-based venture capitalist Peak participated in the round as lead investor. Other investors included La Famiglia from Berlin, and the founders of Amorelie, Orderbird and IDnow. In past rounds, well-known faces such as soccer world champion André Schürrle have already invested.

Bling's offering is aimed at families. Launched in Berlin in 2021 as a pocket money app for children and young people, Bling has been offering a banking solution since summer 2022. Children and young people can pay independently with a card and app. Stefan Bary, Managing Partner at lead investor Peak sees great potential in this target group. "Over a quarter of all retail banking customers in Europe are parents with underage children," he says. "Yet they are forgotten by banks in product development."

According to the company, more than 10,000 children and teens have paid with Bling so far. "But our app is also used within the family as a tool by adults," says co-founder and CTO Leon Stephan. "That's shaping our tech strategy for the future." The company now plans to use the new capital to further expand its own offering. CEO Nils Feigenwinter announces, among other things, new savings offers already at birth.
