The fintech raised an undisclosed amount in the millions.

Berlin-based fintech Bling has successfully completed its seed financing round. According to the company, it raised an amount in the millions, although the exact amount is not known. Amsterdam-based venture capitalist Peak participated in the round as the lead investor. Other investors included La Famiglia from Berlin, as well as the founders of Amorelie, Orderbird and IDnow. Well-known faces such as soccer world champion André Schürrle have already invested in previous rounds.

Bling's offering is aimed at families. Launched in Berlin in 2021 as a pocket money app for children and young people, Bling has been offering a banking solution since summer 2022. Children and young people can pay independently with a card and app. Stefan Bary, Managing Partner at lead investor Peak, sees great potential in this target group. "Over a quarter of all retail banking customers in Europe are parents with underage children," he says. "Despite this, they are forgotten by banks in product development."

According to the company, more than 10,000 children and young people have paid with Bling so far. "Our app is also used as a tool by adults within the family," says co-founder and CTO Leon Stephan. "This shapes our tech strategy for the future." The company now wants to use the new capital to further expand its own offering. Among other things, CEO Nils Feigenwinter has announced new savings offers right from birth.
