Blockchains takes on Evan

The solutions of the Dresden-based start-up will be integrated into the competitor's platform. Several state-owned investment companies also benefit from the exit.

The US company Blockchains is swallowing Evan GmbH. The Dresden-based company made the announcement on Thursday. Nothing was initially disclosed about the purchase price. Blockchains is taking over 100 percent of the shares, which is why the previous investors beteiligungsmanagement Thüringen GmbH and Technologiegründerfonds Sachsen can also look forward to an exit.

Evan develops solutions that enable companies to exchange data with each other without having to rely on large platforms. To do this, Evan relies on so-called digital identities. This offering fits very well with Blockchains, Inc. which is also committed to decentralized data exchange solutions, explains Evan CEO and co-founder Thomas Müller: "Digital identities are deeply rooted in the DNA of Blockchains, so we are very excited to become part of the Blockchains family. Together, with a visionary team, we want to strengthen the digital sovereignty of people and companies."

Evan solutions will now be integrated into Blockchains' platform. "The added value of the acquisition is not only Evan's broad technology portfolio based on a much-needed trust infrastructure," said Lee Weiss, Executive Vice President at Blockchains, "Rather, the talented employees bring a deep understanding of developing decentralized solutions with global interface standards in mind, which is a tremendous asset for us at Blockchains."
