The Berlin-based start-up Perfeggt was able to convince some well-known investors in its pre-seed round. Among them are the founders of Gorillas and Mymuesli.

Foodtech Perfeggt increases its pre-seed funding round to 3.5 million euros. The startup had already raised 2.5 million euros in capital in November 2021. The new investors are Gorillas founder Jörg Kattner, Just Spices founder Ole Strohschnieder, Foodspring founders Philipp Schrempp and Tobias Schüle, and Hubertus Bessau from Mymuesli. Entrepreneurs Lea-Sophie Cramer, Verena Pausder, Albert Schmidbauer, Eric Quidenus-Wahlforss and Deepali Nangia are also investing. In addition, Urania Ventures is also participating in the start-up.

Tanja Bogumil and Gary Lin founded Perfeggt 2021 together with Bernd Becker, the former head of research and development at Rügenwalder Mühle. Together, the founding trio developed an alternative for chicken eggs. This plant-based substitute is said to be more sustainable and healthier than conventional eggs. Customers can use it to prepare dishes such as scrambled eggs vegan.

The founders plan to invest the newly raised capital in product research and team building. Another focus is on selling their first egg substitute. The start-up plans to launch the product in grocery stores soon.
