Schwerin-based startup arztkonsultation receives €500,000 investment from ESB Invest to support the expansion of its certified video consultation suite and telemedicine software solutions

Greifswald/Schwerin, February 20, 2024 - The digital health company arztkonsultation from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern receives a financial injection of 500,000 euros from ESB Invest. The early-stage investor is thus expanding its portfolio to include a health tech solution for video consultations and telemedicine applications.

arztkonsultation specializes in certified video consultations and is a leader in the field of telemedicine software solutions. With just a few clicks, doctors, psychotherapists and other healthcare professionals can use video consultations, opening up new possibilities in patient contact. The software is also available as a white label and can be easily integrated into other software solutions such as practice management systems or patient portals.

The funding will enable us to further expand our product portfolio and accelerate the development of new market segments such as telecare or telepharmacy.

Development and expansion

ESB Invest is investing the 500,000 euros to support arztkonsultation in its accelerated development and expansion. The start-up already has over 4,000 customers and almost two million video consultations. In addition to practices and hospitals, the company also cooperates with health insurance companies, pharmaceutical and medical technology companies.

ESB Invest is planning to expand its involvement in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and is calling on start-ups from various sectors to get in touch.

Telemedicine is still in its infancy in Germany, but the law to accelerate digitalization in the healthcare sector (DigiG) aims to make video consultations an integral part of healthcare provision. Telemedicine solutions are indispensable, especially for rural areas such as Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Founded in 2017, arztkonsultation employs 20 people and develops its software in Germany.
