One million euros for NautilusLog

The marine start-up's main investor is NBank Capital.
The Hamburg-based start-up NautilusLog has completed its seed financing round of one million euros. The lead investor is NBank Capital from Hanover, and according to VC Magazine several business angels have also given money.
NautilusLog offers a digital logbook for shipping. The app collects data on the ship and ships in the vicinity and reminds the crew of certain tasks in good time. "Laws and regulations for shipping are becoming increasingly complex, but technical progress does not always develop in parallel," says Martin Ranić, Investment Manager at NBank Capital. "Stricter environmental conditions and international competition are creating enormous cost pressure. The market is therefore virtually crying out for NautilusLog's digital solutions."
There are currently 14 employees working for NautilusLog. However, the team is set to grow quickly. A second branch is also planned in Lower Saxony. The app has only been on the market since December last year. NautilusLog is already being used on 2,000 ships.
