Thanks to new investments, Embotech is driving forward the automation of vehicle and port logistics. With BMW i Ventures as a partner, new solutions are being rolled out worldwide

Zurich / Munich, December 2024 - The Swiss deep-tech company Embotech, a leading provider of autonomous logistics solutions, has attracted prominent investors such as BMW i Ventures, Emerald Technology Ventures and Yttrium as part of a CHF 23.5 million Series B financing round. The aim is to further expand the scalable technologies for Automated Vehicle Marshalling (AVM) and Autonomous Terminal Tractors (ATT) - both in Europe and, in the long term, in the US, Asian and Middle Eastern markets.

Together with our investors, we will expand our global presence and continue to deliver cutting-edge technologies that will shape the future of logistics.

Andreas Kyrtatos, CEO of Embotech

Innovative solutions for the future of logistics

Embotech specializes in software solutions for autonomous vehicles that make industrial processes safer, more efficient and more sustainable. The company has been working closely with the BMW Group since 2022, which is already using Embotech's AVM technology in several production plants. This automates and optimizes the navigation of vehicles in production environments without having to make any modifications to the vehicles themselves. Since its introduction, Embotech's systems have guided hundreds of vehicles through the plants every day - a number that is set to increase significantly by 2025.

Embotech's technology is fundamentally changing how we control vehicles in production processes. We are delighted to support this pioneering company financially and strategically to drive automation in logistics worldwide.

At the same time, Embotech is driving forward its ATT solutions for port logistics. A pioneering project in Europe's largest port in Rotterdam plans to deploy 30 autonomous terminal tractors with LiDAR and GPS technology. These vehicles guarantee maximum precision, safety and efficiency - around the clock and in all weather conditions.

Focus on sustainability and efficiency

By automating central logistics processes, Embotech is helping to lower operating costs, reduce CO2 emissions and address the global driver shortage in the logistics industry. Especially in vehicle production, the technology gives the BMW Group and other partners a clear competitive advantage through increased flexibility, digital transparency and reduced downtime.

Embotech offers leading autonomous solutions that are groundbreaking for the global logistics market. We are proud to accompany this innovative Swiss company on its growth path.

The next steps

With the new funding, Embotech aims to expand its existing technologies, enter new markets and strengthen its position as a market leader in autonomous logistics. The cooperation with partners such as the BMW Group lays the foundation for a scalable future that brings more safety, efficiency and sustainability to global supply chains.
