Some take off - others take care of the basics first. Several German start-ups in the air taxi industry are currently announcing important steps.

There is a lot going on in the German urban air mobility scene. On Wednesday, Volocopter, a taxi taxi manufacturer from the Kraichgau region, announced that it intends to use its multi-copters in Singapore within three years. In cooperation with the economic development and the aviation authority of the Southeast Asian city-state, the German company wants to make Singapore the first country in the region to have a regular air taxi service. Volocopter has already been active on site for two years, now the Bruchsal-based company is also establishing an Asian holding company to coordinate business there.

The Munich-based start-up D3 Technologies is not quite ready yet. The company is working on an integrated traffic management system that will help with route planning even above the road and guarantee the safety of urban air traffic. Now the company, which was founded last year by aviation start-up veteran Corvin Huber, has completed its second round of seed funding. According to the company, 2.9 million euros have been raised. Among the investors is SEK Ventures, the vehicle of the Flixbus founders. In order to be able to test its system soon, D3 intends to use the money to develop a first application for pilots by next year.
