Gorillas apparently planning own credit card

According to a media report, internal documents show that Gorillas wants to become profitable as a fintech. In addition to a credit card, the Berlin-based company also wants to offer a discount program.
So far, Gorillas is not yet profitable with the fast delivery of food and is burning a lot of money to achieve market leadership. There are plenty of competitors: in addition to Flink, Grovy and Foodpanda , the Turkish original Getir has also entered the German market. An internal presentation that Finance Forward and Capital now shows that Gorillas is already planning further ahead. The plan is called "Gorillas 2.0". Apparently, the Berlin-based start-up also wants to offer credit cards and a discount program for its customers in the future.
The two media outlets write that the plan is still without a timeline, but that Gorillas is apparently on the verge of becoming a fintech. If Gorillas also offers a financial infrastructure in the future - according to the plan - it could increase customer loyalty and encourage them to make more purchases. The start-up wants half of all spending on everyday items to be processed via Gorillas in future, write Finance Forward and Capital with reference to the presentation. Gorillas would also be able to access valuable data with the help of credit cards.
The delivery start-up has recently come under heavy criticism. Employees at several locations went on strike after a colleague was dismissed for arriving at work a few minutes late. The Berlin district office of Pankow imposed a fine on Gorillas for using the sidewalk as a storage area.
