Penalty notice for Gorilla's warehouse in Berlin

The deadline for an eviction ignored Gorillas, now comes the next step: The district office of Pankow imposes a penalty notice for blocked sidewalks in front of a warehouse of Gorillas.

The trouble doesn't stop, but this time it comes from a different side: On June 18, a deadline expired for Gorillas of the district office Pankow, which demanded the clearing of the sidewalk at the warehouse of the start-up in Berlin Prenzlauer Berg. Gorillas took no action, and now a penalty notice is being sent out, which includes a three-digit sum as a fine.

"The management did not react to the eviction notice," Pankow's city councillor for public order Daniel Krüger (AfD) told the Berlin Newspaper. "The situation is unchanged, the sidewalk continues to be used, there are even vans there at times." There were repeated complaints from residents who saw no passage on the sidewalk, where bicycles, containers and food stood and stand.

Krüger suspects that this notice could also be ignored by gorillas, then the sidewalk could be cleared: "But that is rather unlikely because of the limited capacities in the district office. In the end, the case could end up before the administrative court," Krüger told the Tagesspiegel.

In addition to the trouble with the district office, the trouble with the protests by employees of Gorillas does not stop. There are repeated calls for protests in Berlin via social media, and on Monday the Gorillas Workers Collectiv published a list of demands to the company, such as the payment of missing wages and better equipment.
