Hellofresh Go has a new owner

Convini, a Swedish company that offers smart fridges in the workplace, takes over the insolvent start-up.
Before coronavirus, many food start-ups were trying to conquer the office. The pandemic put an early end to this goal, as many people were working from home. The Swedish company Convini now wants to conquer the market for itself. Yesterday, the company acquired Hellofresh Go , the insolvent subsidiary of Hellofresh.
The purchase will come into effect on June 1st and Convini believes it will become the German market leader. "Germany is an incredibly important market for us and the acquisition of Hellofresh Go is an important part of our expansion plans," says Convini Managing Director Mats Palmquist.
The Swedish family business Convini was founded over 25 years ago and is now the market leader in Sweden and Europe for smart fridges and coffee machines in workplaces. The acquisition of Hellofresh Go is set to turn Convini into a billion-dollar company.
Hellofresh Go was launched in 2018 as a spin-off from Hellofresh. The subsidiary supplies food vending machines at corporate customers with meal boxes. However, the pandemic brought Hellofresh Go's business to a virtual standstill.
