It is the fourth round within two years: The health start-up Kaia was able to raise 75 million US dollars in a current Series C financing round.

Kaia has successfully expanded into the Americas since it was founded in Munich in 2016. Now, the startup has raised $75 million in its Series C funding round. The round was led by an unnamed growth equity fund. It was joined by existing investors such as venture capitalist Optum Ventures, Austria-based 3VC, Balderton Capital, Heartcore Capital and French private equity firm Eurazeo.

The startup is dedicated to combating chronic back pain. It offers exercises via an app where users are improved and encouraged by an AI. In Germany, Kaia is aiming to get on the Digital Health App Directory to be prescribed by prescription. In the US, Kaia also offers an app for lung disease support, and there are plans to bring the offering to the European market as well. For this, Kaia is working with a pharmaceutical company for the launch in Germany, France and the UK.
