It is the fourth round in two years: Health start-up Kaia has raised 75 million US dollars in a recent Series C financing round.

Since its foundation in Munich in 2016, Kaia has successfully expanded into the US. The start-up has now raised 75 million US dollars in its Series C financing round. The round was led by an unnamed growth equity fund. Existing investors such as the venture capitalist Optum Ventures, 3VC from Austria, Balderton Capital, Heartcore Capital and the French private equity firm Eurazeo were also involved.

The start-up is dedicated to combating chronic back pain. It offers exercises via an app in which users are improved and supported by an AI. In Germany, Kaia is aiming to be included in the directory of digital health applications so that it can be prescribed by prescription. In the USA, Kaia also offers an app for support with lung diseases, and there are plans to bring the offering to the European market. To this end, Kaia is working with a pharmaceutical company for the market launch in Germany, France and the UK.
