Kaufland tests temperature tracker from HyPrint

The company's chips were tested for several weeks at the Neckarsulm headquarters. Kaufland intends to use the start-up's solution permanently in future.
Kaufland tested the chips from Heidelberg start-up Hyprint for several weeks. At the Neckarsulm headquarters, Kaufland's purchasing department tested the product presentation on shelves set up like those in a store open for business. The chips were used there. They measured the temperatures in the cold stores over a period of weeks to ensure that the cold chain was not interrupted. Kaufland donates the food that is tested at the head office and that has been refrigerated without interruption to the food bank.
In future, the Hyprint sensors are to be used permanently in the cold storage rooms of Kaufland's sample management and module hall. The duration and volume of the order are not known. Kaufland thus joins customers such as Fody's and Health Logistics, where the Hyprint chips are already in use.
According to the company, which was founded in 2020, it sources the components for its chips almost exclusively from the region. "In highly sensitive areas, uninterrupted quality assurance must be guaranteed," says founder Andreas Laib. "With our system, we contribute to reliably logging the required data."
