Lumaly takes over one million euros from financing round

The company has high goals - and wants to enter another seed round within the next six months.

The Berlin-based start-up Lumaly has closed a financing round and received over one million euros. With the investment, the company wants to further develop its product and achieve constant user growth. Early-stage investor Dutch Founders Fund led the round. German Media Pool, TA Ventures and Tekton Ventures also contributed money.

The startup was founded in 2021. It has developed a browser extension through which corresponding coupon codes are displayed as soon as users visit an online store. The codes are tested in the shopping cart - and the coupon that brings the highest savings should be applied immediately, according to the company. In just its first year, Lumaly said it had 300,000 users. On average, users are said to pay 12.3 percent less per purchase as a result of the coupons.

"Already in the first year, Lumaly has shown great potential with its browser extension," says investor Roman Kirsch. "The great trust of partner stores as well as the attention of users show that the shopping experience in the area of online shopping is still expandable and can be sustainably improved in the future with features like those of Lumaly."

Lumaly clearly has big goals: The company is already looking to enter another seed round in the next six months. The goal here, according to the company, is five million euros. New features are also to be added soon: The browser extension is to become an "all-round shopping assistant," the start-up explains.
