Novocarbo and Stadtwerke Bochum cooperate for greener district heating

German climate tech company Novocarbo has announced a partnership with Stadtwerke Bochum to establish a new location for its Carbon Removal Park. The aim of this collaboration is to make district heating in Bochum more environmentally friendly. Novocarbo will use pyrolysis to convert biogenic residues into biochar and regenerative heat. This biochar can be used as a soil conditioner in agriculture or in the construction industry. Stadtwerke Bochum will be the first municipal utility in a major German city to use climate-neutral heat from biochar production to green the district heating network and supply around 26,000 households with sustainable heat.

This software enables patients with cardiovascular diseases to continuously record their medical data from home and transmit it to their doctors in real time. A jury of almost 100 experts has announced the nominees for the Saxon State Prize for Founders 2024. The award ceremony will take place on June 19 at the Saxon Innovation Conference at Dresden Airport. The nominations cover a wide range of sectors, with chemistry/materials technology and life science/medicine/health being the most strongly represented. Numbat launches project phase with JYSK
