Parking depot receives 15 million euros

The Munich-based start-up successfully closes its Series A financing round. Now the company wants to grow further.

The Munich-based start-up Parkdepot closes its Series A financing round with 15 million euros. Most of the money comes from existing investor Henq, a venture capital fund from Amsterdam. Other investors included Surplus Equity Partners and Armira Growth. The start-up intends to use the fresh capital to expand internationally and further develop its own product.

Parkdepot develops parking space management services based on image recognition technology and artificial intelligence. To this end, the company wants to digitalize the entire parking process, from license plate recognition to billing. At the same time, the start-up also wants to offer an analysis of the parking space to enable companies to rent out unused capacity, for example. According to Parkdepot, it currently manages around one million parking processes every day. Its customers include food retailers, parking garage owners, hotels and clinics.

Parkdepot was founded in 2019 and initially expanded in the DACH region in 2021. Since 2022, the company has also been offering its technology in Poland, Denmark and Italy. Co-founder and Co-CEO Jakob Bodenmüller is observing a trend towards camera-based parking technology. "We are convinced that in five to ten years, the majority of all European parking spaces will be managed digitally."
